5 July 2006 - X World (Mac) Conference Begins

View photos 10:01am. Sitting here at Level 3 foyer at UTS Building 6. Have registered for conference, got X World shirt and materials. Plenty of coffee and buscuits, but I'm still getting over breakfast!

Went to bed about midnight, and slept ok til about 5am. Had the window open and traffic was noisy all night. Might close window tonight. Got up 6:45am, went for a jog from near Central station around Hyde Park and back. Really nice around the park with sunrise shining on buildings. Met some other "joggers" who were from Saratoga, California, who are playing in an orchestra in the Opera house. I think his name was Stephen, and he goes to UCLA and plays in Saratoga High School Orchestra.

Had shower, read a chapter out of the Bible... leart about the Israelites, and how they didn't enter the promised land because they didn't wholly follow God. Then had breakfast. Had hot buffet breakfast at the hotel... grilled tomato, hash browns, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, baked beans, toast with honey, orange juice, crossants, jam tarts... I'm full!

Now, just to wait until the start of the conference at 11am. Web stuff to do. Bye!

10:53pm. The conference today was good. Learn some things about network troubleshooting, packets, routing, DNS, DHCP etc. Have a few extra tools to use when I get back to work. Should learn more tomorrow.

Had free wireless Internet at conference. Good meals. Free drinks, tea, coffee, biscuits. Nice facilites.

Went out to tea with Chris from work, and had some Indian curry and rice, with bread, at Paddy's Market. Quite nice. Then went for a walk from the bottom end of Pitt St, past Centrepoint tower, to the top end near Circular Quay. It was the nicest around that area. Saw the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. Then caught the train back from Circular Quay to Central and headed back to the hotel.

And now it's bed time.
