21 November 2005 - Holidays at Shems Place

Yesterday I travelled with Shem back to his home in the mountains behind Coffs Harbour and I'll be here til Thursday arvo. It's really nice here. I left my car at Tim's place in Brisbane and left the city about 11:30 am. Then we had a swim at Kirra Beach on the Gold Coast and ate some lunch. That was fun!

Then travelled through Ballina and Grafton and to Ulong where the Nilon's live. It's a really nice place here. Nice and green up in the mountains. We arrived at about 6:30 pm (NSW time) and caught up with Shem's mum, dad and sister.

Today we saw the Gaunt's and their less than 2 day old foal! We played "army" and had a bit of fun running around the bush. Lunch was nice and then we did some horse riding!

It was good fun riding! I'm quite new to riding so I was trying to learn a few basics, like trying to get into the rhythm of trotting and cantering. I need to "sit on my pockets" and "lean forward". After a few hours I improved slightly. Looking forward to doing more and getting a bit more used to the saddle.

Time for winding up for the day after a nice dinner, hot shower, worship, and reflecting. See what tomorrow brings...
